Dr Mark Bennett is a geologist with over 21 of experience, predominantly in gold, nickel and base metal exploration and mining. He has worked in Europe, West Africa, and Australia, including various roles at WMC’s Exploration Division, Kambalda Nickel Operations and Melbourne office, Gold Fields St Ives Gold Mines and Forrestania Gold’s Bounty Gold Mine. Subsequent to this, Mark spent eight years with LionOre as Chief Geologist and Exploration Manager.

 

In 2002, Mark received the Association of Mining and Exploration Companies (AMEC) Prospector of the Year award in recognition of his contribution to the discovery of the Thunderbox Gold Mine and the Waterloo nickel mine.

 

Mark is Apex’s Exploration Director and is closely involved in the company’s corporate and exploration activities, including the acquisition and development of the Wiluna, Gidgee, Youanmi and Aphrodite gold projects.
