Adriaan is General Manager Operations at Newmont’s Tanami mine in the Northern Territory of Australia. Previously he held the position of General Manager at Newmont Waihi Gold in New Zealand.

After obtaining a Masters Degree in Mining Engineering from the Technical University in Delft in The Netherlands Adriaan worked on the Channel Tunnel project before moving to Bauxite Mining in Guinea, West Africa and then a slag recycling operation in Germany. This was followed by projects in Greece, Ghana, Turkey, Mauretania and Ity in Ivory Coast.
